Who are you?
I am Brennan Brosseau. I am a Photography Enthusiast, based in the Greater Vancouver area of British Columbia. I was born August 1st, 1974 in Kamloops B.C.. I am happily married with two cats and my favourite color is blue.

What is the significance of the name "Vyper"?
Vyper was my nickname when I was working as a disc jockey. It was only natural that I when I started doing stuff online that I would use that name as well. After almost twenty years, it just kind of stuck with me.

Why did you get into photography?
I remember, even as a child, I had been drawn to photography and cameras. I just never had the opportunity to own one myself. When I was in high school, I did own a point & shoot film camera for a couple of years until it went missing. I took it everywhere, I even used disposables for while because that was all I could afford. It was not until I met Samantha, my wife, that I was given a real chance to try photography, with an SLR camera. Her mom had an old Ricoh XR2s with a couple of lenses (a Ricoh 50mm f/2 and a Hanimex 75-300mm f/5.6) that she was willing to lend me on an extended basis. I still have the camera too, which is nice. I really enjoyed photography with that camera.

Where did you go from there?
It was not until I quit smoking that I got serious into photography. Samantha made a deal with me, that if I stayed away from smoking, we would get me a reward. After much debate, I decided on getting an SLR of my own. It took a few months to save for the camera and it was not exactly a joyous time for me but it was worth it. I bought a brand new Nikon F75 SLR and from that point on my hobby just took off.

What is the next step?
The next step is to try and break into photography as a business. I really enjoy doing event/wedding photography, it is probably the most stressful thing I have ever done. It pushes your creative limits and forces you to be a quick thinker, and observant. I also enjoy doing portraits, it is a fun way to interact with people, to learn about other people in the world.

What is your favourite part of being a photographer?
I enjoy meeting new and interesting people, getting off of the computer and interacting with others. Yes, the irony of that last statement is not lost on me; I am a digital photographer, so I do spend a fair amount of time on the computer processing my photographs.
